Sandeep has spent his career running owner-operated businesses. Running hotels and serviced suites meant dealing every day with the problems Alia Growth works on: getting found online, answering every guest fast, earning reviews and getting people to come back.
He started out as a mortgage broker. In 2006 he left that work to launch a water-vending business, and it failed. The lesson he took from it was to change the plan early when the evidence says so.[1] In 2009 he co-founded Freeman Education, which taught property investing.[1]
In 2015 he and Aravind Sinniah co-founded SubHome, which managed serviced suites in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru and later built its own room-management software.[1][2] In 2018, Tune Group and ECM Libra jointly acquired a 50% stake in the business.[3] SubHome went on to operate hotels, including Alia Premier in Kuala Lumpur.[1]
Today Sandeep leads Alia Asia from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Through Alia Growth, he helps owner-run businesses in the US find out why customers choose the other business, and what to fix first. He reviews and signs off every guide in Alia Growth's Learn section.
